Woh Village Hike

The famous Stairway to Heaven hike is a loop that takes hikers deep into Wadi Litbah in Ras al Khaimah, UAE, and scales the towering sheer cliff face that marks the border with Oman, via a series of stone staircases traditionally used by shepherds. The loop then takes hikers along the top of the cliffs, along the expansive plateau, before descending via the village of Woh back into the wadi. One can choose to hike part of the loop & this is what I did one day in January: hiked the Woh village trail, taking in expansive views of the cliffs and surrounding valleys, whilst marveling at the breathtaking balcony walk and pool perched high up along the trail. As an introduction to trekking in this most magical of corners of the UAE and the Hajar mountains, the Woh village hike is second to none. A day of thrilling views, exciting trails and the company of donkeys and goats. Brilliant.
